Types of Blast Nozzles

Maintenance Tips

• Inspect nozzle orifices regularly.
• Replace nozzles when the orifice wears by 1/16" or more—it can increase abrasive use and reduce pressure.
• Always store nozzles in padded containers to prevent cracking.
• Check for gasket leaks and improper alignment at coupling.

Material Matters

Nozzles are made of tungsten carbide, boron carbide, or silicon nitride. Boron lasts the longest but is more brittle. Choose based on your media and blasting hours.

Pro Tip

Track nozzle wear just like you track abrasive usage. If your media use spikes or surface finish degrades, your nozzle may be the cause.
